1. An ESRB rating of teens as the game:

  • Deals with graphic depictions of racism as well as use strong language, making it inappropriate for younger players.
  • We avoid lethal violence in this game, which helps widen its availability of it for younger players.

2. Players are interested in games with a historical plot perspective and a visual design that desires a narrative theme for a AAA game title experience.

Target Audience

Concept in Detail

The game will be a 3D open-world based on the map of Savannah, Georgia, 1896. The player is free to roam and interact with both allies and enemies (local politicians to the Klu Klux Klan) randomly spawned across the map. The players spawn with a dart gun which once fired on a transgressor of racial operation will make him/her realize the consequences of their actions by giving them a century's worth of awareness. Players get quests from allies they meet along the way, which will lead players to their main goal/fight against Social Injustice and stop the Plessy vs Ferguson law from passing in the court. Not only the past but the player can also shape the future in DLC packs.

Level Design

High-definition and real game graphics will give players a better experience of traveling through the past.

  • This game combines the retro-futuristic art style especially the cassette futuristic art style and Jim Crow’s time era.

  • The color palette of the environment will have gray tones to imply the suffering experienced by people of color in the 19th century.

  • At the same time, the various equipment he carries, including the dart gun, will also have the sci-fi style in the 80s movies, with loud, bright colors and geometric shapes.

  • The game UI will combine the display effect of a Random-scanning display and the UI style of Red Dead Redemption 2 to create a mixed UI art style.

  • In contrast, the environment in the game will be highly restored to the Jim Crow time era.

Visual Style

Game Progression

  • Our concept of time travel was inspired by a 1980s sci-fi classic film, “Back to the Future”, in the sense that the player will actively be able to change the future by correcting the past.

  • There is inspiration drawn from Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”, with elements of revisionist revenge history that will cathartically allow players to revisit the sins of our country’s past and help to right the wrongs of our forebears.

  • Aesthetically, the game draws a lot from Rockstar Games’ “Red Dead Redemption” series, as it is an open-world game set in the past.  Aside from the main hub city of Savannah, players will be able to explore the surrounding eastern Georgian farmland and small towns, enabling them to become fully immersed in the time period.

Unique Selling Points

Our game reflects racial issues in real history and combines it with a sci-fi style story, which takes both the entertainment of game mechanics and the seriousness of the theme into account and attracts players to empathize with the sufferings that people of color have encountered and are experiencing.
Compared with other games, our game innovatively uses an art style that mixes history and future sense. This will bring players a brand-new gaming experience while also allowing players to strongly feel the collision of old and new ideas during the game.
As a Looter Shooter game, the Satisfying and fast-paced shooting mechanics can dispel the heaviness caused by the serious theme to a certain extent.
